We welcome highly motivated candidates who are passionate about computational drug discovery, cheminformatics, and molecular modeling. Our lab provides a collaborative and supportive environment where students can develop skills in computer-aided drug design (CADD), molecular simulations, machine learning applications in drug discovery, and related computational methodologies.
Who Should Apply?
Undergraduates and Master’s Students
We are looking for undergraduate and master’s students who are eager to learn and contribute to our research. While prior experience in cheminformatics or molecular modeling is not required, a strong foundation in computational skills and basic programming is highly beneficial. We provide mentorship and opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research.
Expectations
- Students commit at least 10-15 hours per week to research.
- Students commit to a minimum of six months in the lab (ideally longer).
- Strong interest in computational drug discovery, medicinal chemistry, or related fields.
- Basic programming skills (e.g., Python, R, or other relevant languages).
- Familiarity with computational tools or a willingness to learn software used in cheminformatics and molecular modeling.
Opportunities
- Gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge computational techniques for drug discovery.
- Work on real-world research projects that contribute to the scientific community.
- Develop technical and analytical skills that are valuable for academic and industry careers.
- Collaborate with a dynamic and passionate team of researchers.
How to Apply
Interested students should send an email to Dr. Tan Mai with:
- A brief introduction about yourself, your research interests, and your current academic status.
- Your CV, including relevant coursework, skills, and research experience.
- A summary of any prior research experience, highlighting key projects or publications.
- (Optional) Any relevant codebases, software tools, or datasets you have worked on.
Visitors, Interns, and Short-Term Students
We welcome visiting students, research interns, and short-term trainees, particularly those interested in conducting a well-defined research project for at least six months. Shorter visits may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
If you are interested in joining us, we encourage you to reach out! We look forward to hearing from you.
